On the 14th of November we launched First Class Foundation!
It has taken a long time to get to this point, the endless forms, charity commission questions, board meetings and late night conversations were by no means easy.
The process of setting up a charitable organisation is not for the faint hearted, but nonetheless, after a year or so of working quietly behind the scenes, we finally had the chance to share the plans and vision for First Class Foundation.
We decided to launch in a small but significant way. We invited key stakeholders, including members from the West Midlands Combined Authority, The Centre for Mental Health, Birmingham Rep Theatre and Local Community groups. We were honoured to have some beneficiaries of our projects attend and share their heart and their experiences of working with us.
For us it was significant to launch the charity in a space that was located in the centre of Birmingham. One Colmore Row, the head quarters of the church of England diocese, a place that also aligns with our values, in the centre of Birmingham, it was as though we put our stake in the ground to mark the beginning of the work we will do in the city.
First Class Foundation exists to serve three main purposes
- To reduce youth violence
- To improve mental health resilience
- To connect young people to their purpose through positive activities and opportunities.
We are excited and humbled at the amazing opportunity we now have, it was a surreal experience to be able to share the vision and mission of First Class Foundation and we look forward to a bright future.
Look out for the First Annual Gala in 2020!
